# Panels & layout

Arranging the window: the tool panes, where they dock, and how rio looks.

**This topic is still to be written.** It will cover: the four tool panes
(Files, Git, Agent, Search) and the *View* menu checkmarks that show and hide
them; docking the side panel left or right; moving a pane to another dock site
by right-clicking its tab and picking *Move to*, or by dragging it there;
resizing panes, and how the arrangement is remembered; how the window
rearranges itself when it gets narrow; colour themes from ***View ▸ Theme…***,
including ones you install; and the document font and zoom under
***View ▸ Font & Zoom***.

covers themes and fonts in brief, and [preferences](preferences.md) explains the
`layout` object where the whole arrangement is stored.
